Product description. The XF 27mm F2.8 is an ultra-compact 'normal' prime for Fujifilm's X-system mirrorless cameras, and offers a 40mm equivalent angle of view. It's the smallest and lightest X-mount lens at just 23mm / 0.9" thick, which means there's no space on the barrel for an aperture ring - instead this must be controlled from the camera

The Fujinon XF 16-80mmF4 R OIS WR is not the fastest X-mount lens in the Fujinon line-up – that's the XF 16-55mm f2.8 R LM WR – but it's smaller, lighter, cheaper, has a 5x zoom range and optical stabilization, so losing one f-stop in maximum aperture seems a small price to pay. We found it a consistently good performer in outdoor shooting
The Fujinon XF 27mm f/2.8 is currently expected to be available in March 2021 at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $399.95 USD and $520 CDN. Fujinon XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Your purchases
. Thew lens shows only a tiny and unnoticeable amount of barrel distortion - both in JPEGs as well as raw files. This is a positive surprise, since on many XF lenses Fuji relies on software correction of distortion instead. However, we have seen similar on the fast XF 23/1.4 already, which also shows virtually no distortion.
XF 10-24mm F4 OIS vs. XF 18mm F2. When it comes to the XF 18mm F2, the prime outperforms the zoom at its maximum aperture, but the the tide shifts from f/5.6 and on. By f/8, the XF 10-24mm F4 OIS is much sharper than the XF 18mm F2. This doesn’t really surprise me, but I would have liked a better showing from the prime.
The XF 23mm F1.4 is sharp. Not crazy sharp, but sharper than anything else I’ve used at 35mm from Fuji. X100 owners will see a jump in sharpness—although close focus at larger apertures are no longer an issue—as will XF 23mm F2 WR and zoom lens owners. Expect some softness in the corners at the widest apertures.
Viltrox stepped up to the plate last year and delivered its first pro-level lens in the form of the AF 75mm f/1.2, which is a devastatingly good lens. It has followed that with the 27mm f/1.2 that
